Sometimes, you just have to roll with the punches, or in the case of Glasgow's famed Duke of Wellington Statue, roll with the cone.
Since the 1980s, pranksters have continuously placed a traffic cone on the
head of the duke. Over the years, the Glasgow council has gone to great lengths and expense trying to prevent the cone-heading tradition, finally accepting that rather than fighting it, the cone should be celebrated as a symbol of Glasgow's irreverent humor.
